Biography
Dr. Mei-ling Wiedmeyer is a faculty member of the Centre for Gender and Sexual Health Equity (CGSHE) and a clinical assistant professor at the University of British Columbia. She is a co-principal investigator with the IRIS project at CGSHE, a community-based mixed-methods research project on access to health for im/migrants in B.C. She is a primary care physician at the Umbrella Multicultural Health Cooperative, providing comprehensive, longitudinal primary care to refugees and im/migrants. She also collaborates with CGSHE faculty Dr. A.J. Lowik on teaching medical students about gender-affirming care, and they completed an audit of the undergraduate medical curriculum to challenge cisnormativity in medical training.
