The Vancouver Prostate Centre (VPC) is a world-renowned research centre that undertakes basic, clinical and translational research to advance the understanding and elimination of prostate and other genitourinary cancers. Researchers are committed to discovering the reasons for cancer progression and treatment resistance at the molecular level and use this information to develop new services and products to improve cancer outcomes.
The Centre fosters the paradigm of team-driven translational health research to discover molecular mechanisms of cancer progression and therapeutic resistance, to further develop new services and products that reduce suffering, improve survival for patients with cancer and promote regional growth of biotechnology. The research team focuses its efforts on fighting cancer through improved understanding of prevention, diagnosis and treatment, as well as patient education.
