Join C2E2 for a spotlight session featuring Shannon Jackson.
In this session, you will learn about the definition of value from the perspective of patients and various health system perspectives on value and cost. Shannon Jackson will explain how value-based health care focuses on achieving health outcomes that matter within groups of patients with shared health conditions, presentations and/or needs and reflect on the terminology "patient-oriented or patient-important" outcomes. Further exploration of measures in health care delivery at micro, meso and macro levels and in research will follow with examples. Finally, the speaker will comment on what the Canadian health care system and researchers could and should do to incorporate outcome measures as a means to monitor and improve value for patients and for the health system.
