Purpose of Study
The purpose of this study is to provide real-life evidence for the role of community-based, low-barrier, short-stay facilities in providing care for patients struggling with substance use disorder and severe bacterial infection requiring a prolonged (approximately 2-6 week) course of antibiotics.
Eligibility
You may be eligible to participate if you:
- have severe bacterial infections and a history of substance use disorder
- are admitted to Vancouver General Hospital or St. Paul's Hospital and started on antibiotics
- have been referred to the Community Transition Care Team (CTCT) to complete at least two more weeks of antibiotics
