Purpose of Study
The purpose of this study is to test two methods of delivering the Otago Exercise Program, which consists of strength and balance training delivered by a physiotherapist to seniors to help reduce falls and the risk of falls.
Eligibility
Physiotherapists may be eligible to participate if they have never received training in brief action planning, and are willing to participate in or have completed training on the Otago Exercise Program.
Older adults may be eligible to participate if they:
- Are aged 65 or older
- Self-report a non-syncopal fall, corroborated by an informant, in the previous 12 months
- Are able to walk three metres with or without an assistive device
- Live in an area served by Vancouver Coastal Health
- Understand, speak and read English proficiently
- Have access to a mobile device and internet
