Biography
Dr. Catharine Winstanley is a member of the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health and a professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She leads the Laboratory of Molecular and Behavioural Neuroscience at UBC, where she investigates the brain mechanisms involved in impulse control. Her research has shown that traumatic brain injury and Parkinson’s disease can result in cognitive dysfunction. Dr. Winstanley has received numerous awards for her research, and has been recognized as a Michael Smith Early Career Scholar and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research New Investigator.
