Biography
Dr. Kitson has an interest in the biological membranes that form the permeability barrier of the skin, and in how these properties may be altered in common and uncommon disorders of the skin. As a result, Dr. Kitson established The Skin Barrier Research Program to investigate the fundamental basis of the permeability barrier of the skin, and to develop means of modifying this barrier in health and disease.
Dr. Kitson has been a visiting professor in Texas and Germany, and his particular interest in formal education is in the nature of student participation: specifically, to increase active and decrease passive participation. He has been involved in numerous research projects since 1989, and has authored or co-authored over 50 publications in journals and books.
