Biography
Margaret McGregor is a family physician at the Mid Main Community Health Centre in Vancouver, B.C. She is a Clinical Associate Professor with the UBC Dept of Family Practice and the Head of the UBC Dept of Family Practice Community Geriatrics. Dr. McGregor is a Research Scientist with the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology & Evaluation, and a Research Associate with UBC's Centre for Health Services & Policy Research. She has an MHSc from the Department of Health Care and Epidemiology at UBC. Dr. McGregor’s research focuses on the examination of organizational characteristics associated with differences in health service delivery and outcomes in frail elder populations. Her work has examined staffing levels, hospitalization, emergency department visit rates and site of death at B.C’s long-term care facilities by facility ownership and organizational characteristics. She has also studied the impact of socio-economic status on hospital utilization and changes over time for patients hospitalized with pneumonia.
