Biography
Dr. Peter Chan is a geriatric and consultation-liaison psychiatrist who is a fully qualified subspecialist in geriatric psychiatry, and has practiced since 1996 at Vancouver General Hospital primarily in the elder care medical units. He is a clinical professor in the UBC Dept. of Psychiatry. He is recognized nationally for his work in the fields of managing delirium and applying neurostimulation (ECT and TMS) for mental disorders, with ongoing research, teaching, administration and policy development in these areas. He also provides capacity assessments. He is involved in a private initiative to deliver TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) at BrainStim Healthcare for those young or old.
