The purpose of this study is to test whether an investigational infusion of islet cells (called VX-880) would be safe, tolerable and effective in providing better control of blood sugar levels for patients with type 1 diabetes who have a kidney transplant.
Eligible participants will undergo a seven-day hospital stay at Vancouver General Hospital for the study treatment and safety monitoring tests, including physical exams, blood work, urine tests, questionnaires, COVID-19 testing and health and medication review.
