Biography
Dr. Brian Grunau (MD, MHSc) is an assistant professor (tenure track) in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of British Columbia and co-director of the BC Resuscitation Research Collaborative, a provincial resuscitation research, quality improvement and surveillance unit. He is a scientist at the Centre for Advancing Health Outcomes and a consultant for BC Emergency Health Services.
Dr. Grunau’s primary research interest is the management of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. He has received over $10 million in research funding and published over 160 peer-reviewed manuscripts. He serves on the International Liasson Committee for Resuscitation Advanced Life Support Task Force and the American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science Committee, both of which create international recommendations and guidelines for resuscitation.
