Biography
Dr. Lynn Straatman is a clinical assistant professor in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia, as well as the medical director of the Cardiac Function Clinic at Vancouver Coastal Health. Her research interests include the management and treatment of heart failure from diagnosis to transition to end-of-life care, including clinical trials of novel heart failure therapies and health services research into the integration of palliative and symptom management strategies. She is also involved in studying the transition of health care services from pediatric to adult care for youth with chronic conditions. In addition, she is involved in research to elucidate the reasons for a lack of gender diversity in physician leadership.
