Biography
Dr. Mypinder Sekhon is an intensive care physician and clinician-scientist at Vancouver General Hospital. He is currently a clinical associate professor in the Division of Critical Care Medicine and Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He completed his medical school training, internal medicine residency and critical care medicine subspecialty fellowship at UBC prior to completing a neurocritical care fellowship at Addenbrooke's Hospital at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom under the guidance of Professors David Menon and Arun Gupta. He completed his PhD under Professor Philip Ainslie in cerebrovascular sciences. His clinical and research interests include multimodal neuromonitoring, cerebrovascular pathophysiology after brain injury and ischemia - reperfusion of hypoxic ischemic brain injury patients. He has received funding from the Canadian Institute of Health Research, Health Research BC and VCHRI.
